On the edge of the village of Vale Ferro, on a hilltop, you will find two artists who, thirty years ago, began to make this acres of barren farmland into a green paradise. In this inspiring place, in the midst of nature, you will learn something about how an iron sculpture and how a piece of jewelry is created.
In a 45-minute workshop, you will have the opportunity to get acquainted with and experiment with basic techniques of jewelery design, such as sawing, filing, hammering and soldering.
We visit the studio for art and sculpture and the artist gives us insights into the mode of production of an iron sculpture.
We visit the sculpture exhibition in the garden and the jewelry exhibition in the studio.
There is a refreshing drink and a herbal tea sample.
Afterwards we go to visit the neighbor, a naturopath. He shows us his herb garden on his typical Portuguese Monte and tells stories and anecdotes about the effects of his herbs.
Finally, we are fortified in a restaurant in the small village of Vale Ferro with a typical Alentejan lunch, also for vegetarians.
