This activity has the dual purpose of giving visibility to the fabric that have served as a basis for clothing, and therefore, the Nazaré costume, as to the tradition/way of life of “drying fish” in general, and horse mackerel, in particular. That is how the key-rings and bookmarks were created, being easy and fast to execute and able to be as “little gifts”. It is intended that everyone test their creativity and give a personal touch to the objects produced!
BRIEF BIOGRAPHY:
Fatima Barroso, was born in Nazaré in 1948. Her mother was from Nazaré and her father was “paleco” (local expression for portuguese visitant). With a Bachelor in Biology she began to teach in a Secondary school from 1972/73 to 2012, when she retired. Passionate about Nazaré, its costumes and traditions, she creates the brand “É Nosso” (It’s ours) in which all the products and are acquired and inspired by this land.

The first brand of Quico – Turismo, Lda is Casas do Quico, located in Nazaré. The distinctive character of Casas do Quico is based on an engaging communication style, unique image (linked to Nazaré and the family), and a superior quality offer to the client.
The project “NAZARÉ CRIATIVA: riding Nazarenes creative waves” invites tourists to immerse themselves in the sea of creativity of the Nazaré people: experiences of local culture, creativity workshops, and staying at houses of people of Nazaré are part of this immersion into the Nazarene community. Participants will be accompanied by people from Nazaré, who will share life stories and other stories from Nazaré, as the creative activities unfold.
